I was lucky to be in the beginning stages of a cool multimedia history project on creating virtual experiences for 18th century English workhouses!
Helping History Professor Susannah Ottaway and Austin Mason, I had the chance to do summer fieldwork in England, conducting archival research and taking photographs on-site. We collected more than 2000 photos! Our project actually evoled to become a class, so I helped prepare, tag and manage these data for student use.
Using all the information I gathered, I spent the year learning SketchUp: constructing, getting feedback, and constantly revising a model of the Gressenhall Workhouse to be as historically accurate as possible.
