Introducing femke.design
Femke.design is a product design educator, podcaster and Youtuber. As a design educator and content creator, she wanted to expand her reach to Instagram. As a podcast follower, I reached out to her in September 2020 and have the honour of working with her since, on Instagram designs and other social assets.
Working with Femke, I spear-headed the strategy and designs for our Instagram launch of @femkedotdesign in October 2020.
In one year, we grew her Instagram account from 0 to 10K followers. I continue to update her Instagram weekly, and help her with other visual designs for her main business on Youtube (thumbnails) as well as other social assets.

Educational Content
With Femke, I currently design for and manage the @femkedotdesign Instagram account. The account consists of promotional designs and material, as well as educational carousel content based on Femke’s Youtube videos.
To create these carousels, I highlight the most important points from her Youtube videos. The posts are launched in conjunction with Youtube. I come up with copywriting and content, and find ways to visually display the lessons.

This process—of having to simplify a complex concept into a bite-size lesson—also allows me to gain a deeper understanding of the topic.

Branding Strategy
To first launch the Instagram account, I worked with Femke to spearhead our Instagram strategy and branding.
I established Instagram post guidelines, branding, and managed its strategy and post schedule. In October 2020, we launched the Instagram account, @femkedotdesign.

Impactful Results
Overall I feel very fortunate to be able to work with someone I admire so much and that I regard a prominent figure in the product design sphere.
By taking educational product design content and summarizing them into simplified visual lessons, I’m also learning quite a lot about the concepts I visually teach.
Since the launch of her Instagram account @femkedotdesign, we’ve seen steady growth over the course of the year.

Throughout the year, we consistently achieve 10k+ accounts reached and 2k+ accounts engaged per month.
