Problem Space
As CFI constantly expanded their products, the website constantly grew with more links. We had many resource articles for technical financial knowledge, community resources, information about the company, information about our courses, and more.
However, the abundance of links loses focus. It becomes overwhelming for site visitor.
I decided to re-design our footer navigation. This required understanding our site structure, prioritizing important pages and re-organizing the site so everything would still be accessible.
Organizing and Simplifying Our Footer
To make our site navigation clearer, I worked with our founder, developer, and lead designer to understand our site better and simplify the categories.
Details
Company-related links (“Company”) are now separate from product-related links (“Certifications” and “Courses”).
A consolidated “Resources” category encompasses everything from our older site footer’s Knowledge, Career Resources, Excel Resources, and Template Resources.
There is a dedicated “Support” category for students seeking support.
At the bottom, we also included links to our other product websites.
Result
A simplified, friendlier site footer that allows students to have a quick overview of the overall site structure and access what they need.
